Your one-eyed monster

I want to know who signed off on this infected-looking phallus with a nasty case of genital warts as a key marketing character for Kia.

A one-eyed monster? REALLY?

Here's the commercial in which Dickie is featured. Apparently bumpy dongs hang out in the back seats of Kia crossovers with your friendly neighborhood sock monkey.

  1. You realize he's a Yo Gabba Gabba! reference, right?

  2. Nope - I actually thought it was a dog toy or something. But knowing this, now I think both the marketing team at Kia and the programming peeps at Nick Jr have phallic fixations.

  3. That is Muno from yo Gabba Gabba. My daughter loves that show. It is a rather odd shaped character but from a childs eyes its just another goofy person. The show is actually pretty good. It has guest stars come on along with guest bands. Jack Black comes to mind as one of them. Anyway I just thought you should know.

    Thanks,
    One big car nut

  4. That's awesome - one of Jack Black's best songs with Tenacious D is "F-ck Her Gently."

  5. Let it slide DYCWTC,

Not all car commercials need young skinny women.

Sometimes, promoting a family car, well known cartoon charaters will do.

It might not appeal to you. But then again, the commercial is not ment for you...

    Dig it?

  6. Get your mind out of the gutter! ;) I actually like their superbowl commercial. I see what you mean though seriously.

  8. I have no idea what a "yo gabba gabba!" is, nor do I care to as it sounds like a rip off of The Ramones' "Gabba, gabba, hey!", but a syphilitic wang was the first thing I thought of when I saw the commercial. Maybe that makes some of us fairly pervy, but every adult I know (including those with kids) pretty much thought along the same lines--it became a running joke for a week or so--so I'd say we're comfortably within the norm on this subject. Some people see "yo gabba gabba", those of us with a sense of humor wonder why they'd use a pimply dong as a pitchman.

  9. These ads were lame, the hamster ones for the Soul were better.

  10. Um... He's hanging out with sock monkeys? How much more evidence do you need that he's a creeper?
